People are like sunsets. Each one is different, made up of different shades of the same colors that blend together into different displays of light. The different backgrounds, cultures, and outlooks of different people mix together in a million different ways. So, what kind of sunset am I? To be a bit literal, I picture myself as the kind of sunset seen in my hometown of Social Circle, Georgia: lots of pink and orange light illuminating gaps between trees and lighting up a small, historical one-red-light town. The colors of my personality have been shaped by growing up in this loving little community and spending time with my friends and family. However, the older I got the more colors were added to my pallet. For example, research into the development of prosthetic limbs lead to my interest in Biomedical Engineering. This is the career path I have decided to work toward so that I can help those in need of prosthesis live the best life possible. However, even though I have the brain of an engineer and enjoy the STEM fields, I have interests that expand into different colors of society. My two favorite hobbies, other than playing softball, are writing and drawing. I have about seven manuscripts written in total, and am in the process of getting one of them published. I also enjoy sitting down by a window to sketch after a long day. After all, it’s the best place to watch a sunset.
